April’s Meeting will be an Introduction to the Observer Corps — Protecting Our Right to Know
This program will be a presentation and discussion on LWVNOW’s plan to establish an Observer Corps during 2019, a structured program to help promote government transparency and accountability, and to help citizens and communities be better informed about the decisions that impact them. Observers regularly attend local government meetings such as county, town, and school board meetings. Observers note what happens at the meetings, and report back. This enables the sharing of information about issues being discussed and how our government is functioning to address them. The presence of Observers encourages better, more open government.
